------------- ACTIVITY REPORTS- AUGUST 01- 31- 2014breaking news/ August 24- 2014:
Strong magmatic quakes accompony activity at Barbarunga volcano on Iceland. Aug 23: First small lava eruption spotted below iceshield near to surface.
M 5.3 - ICELAND - 2014-08-24 00:09:54 UTCVedur (Iceland`s geological survey: Bárðarbunga - updated information Overview of seismic events in August 2014 In this article, updated information on the Bárðarbunga seismic activity is given with daily status reports from the scientist of IMO and the University of Iceland. New material is added to the top of the article. The original information is at the end of the article. All in all, this article gives an overview of events. TREMORS:
Also the harmonic tremors those were temporarely high during the past week decreased again to low levels with the relatively highest values still measured on Gran Canaria:
-------------
-------------------------
August 02- 13 2014:Activity was shortly increasing with 5 registered shocks on August 08, but returned meanwhile to the pace and pattern as before.
TREMORSincreased on all islands in the recent days and are currently relatively strongest on Gran Canaria and La Gomera.Tremor activity also increased on August 12 on El Hierro, and reached higher levels there than it did throughout the main crisis that began in December 2013: No reports about any surface volcanism Other news: Integral electron flux increased after August 08- first time after a longer- 4- 5 months- lasting disturbance, whereby scientists believed, the Sun would in general become weaker now. On August 08, the > 10 MeV Electrons crossed the treshold of 1.000 pfu and even reached shortly 10.000 pfu on Aug 10 . The accumulation of solar electrons can lead to temperature anomalies around the Northern pole and to subsequent climatical anomalies, such as thunderstorms and tornadoes, extensive rains in the one region (in regions such as central Europe, where cold northern streams meet with hot southern ones) and droughts in other regions ( such as in parts of northern America as it was already the case in the recent years ) . In certain cases - especially if values rise above 10.000 or even 100.000 pfu) also technical failures (by induced currents) mainly on satellites in pipelines power grids (transformer fires) become very likely . My suspicions is, that also ships on higher sea are at risk, (as ships are in a certain environment where large ships may function during an electron accumulation like a capacitor) . some reported ships fires in the recent years, those broke in machine rooms and electrical grids, occured during electron accumulation events and might have been caused by such an "electron storm" . Its however a task for scientists and laboratories to prove, whether that suspicions is true or not. find more about that on my solar blog homepage solar and terrestrial blog (note: updates there have be reduced to a minimum. I have also much other things to do. Since solar x ray activity- as usually- dropped again after the solar 11 year sun spot max in 2013, updates there are only made in cases of significant events and alerts!

August 01- 2014:
Two minor magmatic quakes below el Hierro. An indicator, that the magma intrusions from the hot spot and earth mantle is still going on?
